What Is BreakWave EA?
BreakWave is a breakout trading system built on a well-known market principle: periods of low volatility are followed by periods of high volatility. The EA monitors Bollinger Band width to detect “squeeze” conditions — when the bands contract unusually tight — and then trades the subsequent expansion.
The Strategy
- Detect the squeeze — Bollinger Band width contracts below a threshold relative to ATR
- Wait for the break — Price closes outside the Bollinger Bands
- Confirm the direction — ADX rises above 20 and directional indicators (+DI/-DI) confirm the trend
- Enter with dynamic stops — Stop-loss at 1.5x ATR, take-profit at 2.0x ATR
This combination of squeeze detection + trend confirmation + dynamic risk management creates a system that patiently waits for high-probability setups.
